Favorite Places - Travels We Like

Here we want to share some speical travels we've done that we feel strongly everyone would enjoy. We understand that travel is like politics. Ask five people and you'll get ten opinions. But we've done our share of traveling and have been blessed to vist some wonderful places and meet many different kinds of people.

Perhaps our side can provide you some thoughts to add to your bucket list. We hope so.

Ensenada, Mexico
Cruise Ship at Ensenada Mexico Not that popularly known, cruise ships depart the port of San Pedro weekly for 3 and 4 day cruises to Mexico. The 3 day cruise is great. You board the ship Friday afternoon, missing hardly any work. The ship docks back at San Pedro the following Monday morning, around 6AM. If you bring work cloths, you can depart the ship and be at work at your regular time, having had a terrific weekend on the sea and visiting Ensenada.

We have taken this cruise at least ten times. The cruise ship usually docks at Ensenada either Saturday or Sunday, and the other weekend day is an "at sea" day. It is the only vacation that takes 2 1/2 days and feels like a week.

Depending on deals and booking times, you can get reasonable to good deals on the cruise and have a terrific time. If you decide to go, call us. We just might join you.

Tahiti Of all the travels we have done, none have been more beautiful and peaceful then a chain of islands in the south pacific; the French Polynesian Islands; also knows simply at Tahiti. The capitial city is Papeete (prounounced Pop-Pie-Ett-tay). Papeete is about 7 hours from LAX on a direct flight.

We visited the islands via cruise ship that departed papette for 7 luxurious and peaceful days in paradise. As we say, do NOT visit Tahiti unless you want to not like Hawaii any longer. Tahiti is twice what Hawaii is.

Now it's worth noting that you don't need to do a cruise to see Tahiti. But it's the least expensive way and you'll see ALL the islands in a week, food and travel to the islands included. All you need to do is sip pina colata's on the sun deck when at sea and walk on shore with a camera when stopping at paradise.

Tahiti is truly a place where God shows is glory and the beauty he has brought to this world. It is peaceful, the sea creatures are friendly (manta rays came right up to us on the beach, to be petted), and all your problems are literally a world away. We urge you to make this trip. Stay on an island (we'd recommend Bora Bora), or take the cruise and see everything. What a wonderful place.

Mediterranean Map As long as we're talking of cruise vacations (and as long as we love to cruise), let us speak of another wonderful cruise that we've taken in the past. But this one is very different from the Tahiti experience that we told you about above.

You see, there basically two kinds of vacations. Relaxing vacations and site seeing vacations. Somtimes these venues are combined, but we find that it's usually one or the other. Tahiti is the best in relating vacations. A Mediterranean cruise is an all together different matter.

You see, most Mediterranean cruises stop and a wealth of ports. Just about every day you're up, out, touring, and back.. tired, muscle aches. Then it's off to dinner and seeing shows (can't miss those), then to bed late, tired. Hard to sleep because your back hurts.. then next morning, do it all over again at a new port.

But what sights to you see. Our cruise left Barcelona Spain, traveled to Florance, Rome, Napes (including Pompeii), Monte Carlo, Athens, Kusadasi (city in Turkey) and two days in Venice. Now you can't beat that! And you can't see it cheaper or easier than a western Mediterranean cruise! Now there will be plenty of times when that relaxing vacation is calling your name. But when it's time to see the sights.. Take some asprin along and enjoy!

Australian Area Map We had a fantastic trip in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, in our trip in January (2018). Australia ia a great and friendly country. We visited many cities in these countries and all were wonderful.

In Australia, Melbourne was probably the most loved city that Adelina and I visited. Beautiful city, easy to walk around, lot's of things for visitors to see an do. Of course, we visited Melbourne during the Australian Tennis Major Open. So we had a great time watching some tennis and visiting the Rod Laver and surrounding arena.

New Zealand is a beautiful country with lot's to see. Adelina and I only visited the north island area, but we'd recommend visiting New Zealand anytime you can.

Fiji is a beautiful island with very friendly people. We had the opportunity to visit many locations and venues in the country. We stayed at a beautiful restort (the Westin), right on the water. We befriended a great taxi driver named Toga Brown. Toga showed us around the island we had a blast. Fiji is a place you should put on your bucket list.
